Images in waiting

In a time where communication takes place primarily through electronic devices, there are still some situations that force people to stay in the same place, but that does not mean that there are dialogues between them.

Think about what happens in the doctor’s waiting room or at the dentist’s.
Waiting to enter the doctor humans are with their heads down towards a smartphone, a tablet, a laptop computer and nobody talks. Moreover, these remote communications via electronic devices are often between humans and robots.

People wait their turn without communicating with each other

The times when you played in the street are far away while the parents were chatting in the houses keeping their doors open.

The “Images in waiting” game

At the initiative of some categories of professionals, so that there is a minimum of communication between the people who are in the same place, on all those occasions when you have to wait for your turn, the game “Images in waiting” will be displayed on the monitors.

On the screen you will see distorted images that, as the seconds pass, will form the correct final image. In this way, people will have fun playing with each other and will talk to each other while waiting. The room will be less silent and the noise will not be only that of the fingers that press on a keyboard or the sound of a received message.

The game has also become a television quiz in which in 10 seconds you have to guess the subject of the photo. The less time you need the more you win, the jackpot decreases from second to second. It starts with simple subjects up to the more complicated ones.

In some schools the game is used for learn new things, learn the name of new animals and recognize them quickly.

Unfortunately, this experiment did not always give good results, in some cases people were isolated playing the game on their smartphone.

The costs of the project are zero as the monitors on which the game is displayed are already present in the waiting rooms but are unused as waiting patients are interested in other activities (look at the screen of your phone). Even the magazines, the newspapers, which entertained during the wait, disappeared.
