The only person in the world who…

“The only person in the world who” is the system that connects users who are doing the same thing in different places thinking instead of being the only ones in the world to do it at that time.

The system that connects unique people

The list of users “unique in the world” lists the people who are doing something unique, and for unique we do not mean something amazing but being the only people in the world to do this thing right now.

Three messages from users who are doing "unique" activities
The list of people who do something “unique” in the sense that they alone are doing it at that time.

It is 5 am, Andrea is no longer able to sleep and decides to listen, from his record collection, a 1972 song by Adriano Celentano which is titled “Prisencolinensinainciusol” from the album “Nostalrock”. He is almost certain to be the only one in the world to listen to that song at the time and shares it with other users through a video introduced by a short text:
I’m listening to “Prisencolinensinainciusol” by Adriano Celentano at 5am. #topw“.
#topw means “the only person who” .

Andrea's post that says he is listening to the song
Andrea thinks he is (until proven otherwise) the only one in the world to listen to the song at that time.

If somewhere in the world, another user connected and inspired by Andrea decided to listen to the same song by demonstrating it with a post, would be put in contact with Andrea and would create a link between the posts. It is also true that it is not impossible that another person, without having read Andrea’s post, had the same idea of listening to that song.

The “Reply” button

At the end of each post there is the button “Reply if you’re doing the same thing”, this allows us to create a bond and it’s like saying “no, I’m doing it too, so we are the only ones in the world to do this thing”.

Icon formed by a chain ring and by the "Reply" button
The button creates a link between multiple users who do the same thing.

Andrea’s post will be linked to that of the new user creating a link that can continue with other people who are doing the same thing. Andrea would receive a notification informing him that for this post he is not the only one in the world but there is another person who is doing the same thing.
Andrea was unique for other posts but not for this, a score next to his name highlights: 1 (22) indicates that he was “the only person in the world” 22 times.

Two posts from users who do the same thing
When people do the same activity, they create a link between them and other users can add themselves.

Ultimately two lists are continuously updated:

  • Users who are doing the same activity in different places around the world (highlighted by the link chain icon).
  • The truly unique users: nobody in the world is doing the same thing. They could also give others the idea of doing the same thing.

And ‘Saturday night, Fabio is forced to stay in the office to complete the tax return of his customers. Publish a post with a photo that says “I’m the only one in the world that completes the modules at 11 on Saturday night”. At that point, his post will be visible but only those who are doing the same thing (work at 11 am on Saturday evening at the office) demonstrating it with a post (video, audio, photo) will create a link with Fabio.

Cases with posts with more links are those concerning sporting events in which millions of people in different countries are seeing the same event. The link between a more romantic post instead it was that between two users, an Italian and a French who both published on the same day who were watching for the umpteenth time the film “Meet Joe Black”. The system created a link between the two posts, users began to communicate and shortly afterwards the two really met in person.

A funny bond was that among users who, despite having waited a year to go to the Madonna concert, unfortunately all have a fever that night. There was a connection between 8 unfortunates who were doing the same thing: taking care of themselves at home rather than being at the concert.

If everything can be demonstrated in any way, it remains difficult (if not impossible) to prove that you have had the same dream as others, in this case it would take a Photo of the dream (a Sleepclick) to confirm it.

Another link between posts that make we smile was during the Christmas holidays in which 3 people from 3 different countries were watching the movie “Home alone” because it was broadcast on TV in the same evening both in Italy and in France; in the third country, instead a user was watching it in vhs.

The system has aroused the interest of many artists, it was a special moment for them to discover that in that moment, in a certain part of the world, a person was watching a movie or reading his book (in the case of a writer) believing himself the only one in the world.
So, if you believe to be the only person in the world to do what you are doing in this moment, use the hashtag #topw (#theonlypersonintheworldwho) and find out if you’re really the only one in the world, maybe you’ll be meet a new friend or your twin soul.
